Lifetime Sports Academy - FREE LESSONS!!

Starting June 8th the Lifetime Sports Academy will be offering free group lessons to boys and girls ages 8 to 18 for golf, tennis and swimming. Lessons will be available Monday thru Friday from 9am to 3pm and will focus on skill development, training and participation located at McMillen Park Pavilion just West of the pool when you enter the park off of Oxford. Come as often or as long as you like. For children not participating in group lessons, there are other activities available such as soccer, softball and volleyball.

All equipment will be provided, however, if you have your own, you are encouraged to bring it. GOLF will be offered on Mondays and Tuesdays with practice opportunities every day. You will be eligible to receive free golf equipment, special lessons and playing opportunities once you pass the golf skills tests and rules test. TENNIS lessons will be offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays with practice available every day. You may also be eligible for free tennis equipment once you attend seven tennis lessons. SWIMMING lessons available Monday thru Thursday.


Opening Day Schedule on Monday, June 8th
9am - 3pm Registration (Bring parent/guardian)
9:30 - 10:15am Intro to Golf (ages 8-12) & Tennis (ages 13-18)
10:30 - 11:15am Opening Day Kick-Off
1 - 1:45pm Golf Iron Lesson (all) & Open Tennis (ages 8-18)
2 - 2:45pm Golf Wood Lesson (all) & Open Tennis (ages 8-18)

IU Coaches Tom Crean (Basketball), Sherry Dunbar (Women's Volleyball), Bill Lynch (Football), Felisha Legette-Jack (Women's Basketball), and Athletic Director Fred Blass will be in Fort Wayne for just one night! Please come out and support IU! Cost to attend this event is $25 per person (including a Tailgate Style Buffet Dinner). All proceeds from the tour benefit the IUAA and IU student athletes. Turn the Town Pink

Think Pink. Wear Pink. Give Hope. May 2008.

Thursday, May 28th is a great day to show your support and wear pink all day, to work, to hang out, anything... Promote awareness about breast cancer and is sponsored by the Vera Bradley Foundation. Vera Bradley employees will be tying ribbons throughout downtown Fort Wayne. Fort Wayne businesses will be turning their businesses pink. The Turn the Town Pink Ceremony will be held at One Summit Square at 5:30pm followed by everyone walking together to the TinCaps Stadium for a TinCaps "Pink" baseball game at 7:05pm and for every ticket sold, $1 (one dollar) will be donated to the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer.
